⇒ Permitted to extend the period of stay of “Temporary Visitor (90 days)”. *If foreign nationals find it difficult to maintain their livelihood in Japan, they are permitted to engage in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence previously granted (and allowed to work part-time up to 28 hours
per week).
For foreign nationals who are unable to return to their home country due
to the COVID-19 pandemic and wish to work (part-time) to maintain their
livelihood in Japan
It has been decided to permit foreign nationals who are unable to return to
their home country or place of residence due to the COVID-19 pandemic and
have difficulty maintaining their livelihood in Japan to work (part-time) up
to 28 hours a week.
Those who meet the following two requirements the requirements in 2.
below and wish to work (part-time) are required to apply for permission to
engage in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence
previously granted at the regional immigration services office.
